Overview

This unit is ideal for any individual with significant responsibility for coaching and mentoring as part of their day-to-day role. The qualification is also suitable for anyone who works in the capacity of a coach or mentor within any industry.

We will also support your personal and professional development so that you can make an informed choice regarding your next career steps.

Career Progression

This unit is part of the Level 5 Certificate in Coaching and Mentoring and if you decide to progress on to the full qualification, you will not have to complete this unit again, it will count towards the achievement.

The Level 5 Certificate in Coaching and Mentoring is an ideal qualification for learners looking to gain a critical understanding of the role and responsibilities of the workplace coach and mentor whilst deepening their understanding of how coaching and mentoring can impact an organisation. This qualification also provides learners with the skills and knowledge needed to be able to assess their own skills, behaviours and knowledge as a coach and mentor.

If you decide to progress on to the full qualification it will help you to progress from assistant management roles to more senior roles in HR, Team Leading and Line Management positions.

Aspire Eligibility

All programmes are open to Londoners who meet the following criteria:

  • UK resident and living in London
  • Aged 18+
  • Do not hold a level 4 (post-college/sixth form) qualification
  • Either employed (and earning less than London Living Wage) or unemployed/economically inactive

Course Eligibility

Level 2/GCSE (A* - C or Grade 1 - 4) in Maths and English

Level 2 or 3 Qualification Related to management and leadership (disireable)

Please note that this unit will require you to be observed carrying out a coaching session, either in a real work environment or as a simulation.

What is expected of me?

- To be an active participant in the programme.

- To complete all of the workbooks funding paperwork and the accredited unit.

- To undertake a workbased project (will be supplied by us if you are currently not working)

- To participate in all the group online workshops and 1-2-1 coaching sessions.

How much does this cost?

Participation in this programme is completely free. It is fully funded by the European Social Fund (ESF) and the Greater London Authority (GLA).

Additional support for travel to and from places of study and other expenses will vary depending on the provider and the support they are able to offer. These options will be discussed during your enrolment.

How long will it take?

The part time programme typically takes 8 - 12weeks to complete

Can I take more than one unit?

You cannot study more than one unit on the Aspire London Programme.  However, upon completion of your programme, you’ll get advice and guidance from your Aspire Careers Coach about how and where you can continue to study, if this is the next step for you and your career progression. This could include a full Level 5 qualification.
