Overview

The Review of Learning module is designed for those with experience of learning through work who want to progress their careers further. This will enable you to make a claim for university credit that can count towards a qualification.

This module aims to provide the support and structure for you to review your work based/informal or professional learning and explore its significance for your career development and/or higher education programme. It will enable you to undertake tasks that develop the skills of reflection and analysis appropriate for study at level 4. The module will also enable you to engage in a process of recognising key areas of experiential and certificated learning that can be presented for the award of additional credit.

Modules

This module introduces you to the process of reflecting on your prior learning. This includes an introduction to:

1. Skills for reflection on learning and models of reflection

2. Identification of experiential, work based and formal learning

3. Learning from work and other formal and/or informal learning experiences.

4. The use of academic and professional language and terminology.

5. Guidance in portfolio building and evidence compilation and annotation.

6. Creating an accreditation claim that is supported by learning outcomes and credit amounts relating to specific modules

Career Progression

The credit gained through successfully completing this module, as well as , through recognition of prior learning (RPL) can count towards the these and other higher education qualifications.
