Are you looking for a career in working with early years children? This unit will give you a critical overview of the different forms of play evidenced in the early years of children. It will allow you to explore different approaches and how to plan for child and adult initiated activities in an early years setting. The unit aims to help you understand the importance of integrating play into the curriculum and to plan effectively for children with individual learning needs.
This unit will promote an understanding and the importance of equality of opportunity for all irrespective of gender, ability and background. It will also develop your understanding of the links between play, representation and learning. If you work or want to work in an early years setting such as a playgroup, nursery or primary school, this unit will help you to plan effectively and appropriate creative learning opportunities, taking account of young children’s health, emotional wellbeing, and safety.
Successful completion of this unit can be used as recognition of prior learning (RPL). When you have completed this unit, you will be able to progress to the Level 4 Certificate in Early Childhood Studies course delivered at Croydon College’s university centre as a full time one-year course of 120 Level 4 credits.
The unit can also be used as a unique CPD opportunity to gain skills and knowledge of the early years and healthcare sector. It is a particularly relevant unit for those looking to work in an early years setting such as a primary or nursery school or within the healthcare sector or those wanting to progress your career.
